I feel like I know you more now and have learned more about you in the past few months than I did in our Senior year together. I don't know how people did it before the internet. But one of the biggest rewards is making new friends.Miahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17881826389793941197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8013086204421538322.post-48621930158716727932010-02-15T06:59:21.540+08:002010-02-15T06:59:21.540+08:00I confess I read this yesterday and have been thin...I confess I read this yesterday and have been thinking about my comment since then!

I know what you're saying about being a good friend. I wrestle with this myself. I believe I often fall short of being the best friend to my pals. So I made an effort a few years back to really pay attention to those that I think are the epitome of "The Good Friend," really observe what made them so great at it.

What I realized, what meant the most to me, was what great listeners they were. They dropped EVERYTHING and gave me their FULL attention whenever I came to them needing to talk. What's more, they REMEMBERED the things I said. They ASKED me about specifics that I had mentioned in earlier conversations, clearly wanting to know the answers.

I'd like to say that I've learned from their example and am now the perfect, listening friend. But I think I'm still a work in progress, I'm afraid. I like to believe that the important thing is, I'm really trying!

Clearly, you are too, Erin. Cheers to you!
